While there are a variety of tablets that use the Windows operating system, none of them compare to Microsoft’s flagship Surface Tablet line. It is the official tablet of the NFL. You can choose from the Microsoft Surface 2, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3, or the Microsoft Surface Pro 4.
The Microsoft Surface 2 comes with Windows and Office 2013 RT already pre-loaded. Office RT is a slightly reduced version of Microsoft Office. Among other differences, it does not support macros, add-ins or Visual Basic Applications (VBA), does not support recording narrations in Powerpoint, or use Adobe Flash videos. It also does not support automatic synchronization with OneDrive.
The Surface 2 has a 10.6 inch screen with 1920×1080 pixel resolution. It comes with either 32 GB or 64 GB of storage, and has a battery life of up to 10 hours. The processor is the NVIDIA Tegra 4. It has WiFi, Bluetooth, and some models come with 4G LTE Mobile Broadband through AT&T. There are dual cameras, two microphones, and stereo speakers with Dolby sound. This tablet also has a full sized USB 3.0 port, instead of the typical micro-USB port found in other tablets.
Microsoft ads for this tablet often show a colorful keyboard. The keyboard is sold separately, as are the colorful overlays.
The Surface Pro 3 has an 11.5 inch Full HD Plus screen with 2160 x 1440 resolution. It comes with 64 GB, 128 GB, 256 GB or 512 GB of storage. There are either 4 or 8 GB of RAM. The processor in this machine comes from the Intel Core line, and i3, i5 and i7 models are available as options. This tablet supports wireless and Bluetooth, but not mobile broadband. It also has a full sized USB 3.0 port. This tablet comes with a stylus, called a Surface Pen. As with the Surface 2, the keyboard and overlays are sold separately.
The Surface Pro 4 is even more powerful and runs a full version of Windows 10. It is truly a tablet intended to replace your other tablets, your desktop, and your laptops.
